Hendrick Seeds is a Non-GMO (non Genetically Modified) soybean research, breeding and seed company focused on specialty food-grade seed varieties. We offer DHTM premium Certified soybean and natto seed varieties used to meet the needs of specialty soy food and beverage markets. Our focus is on short-season varieties with specialty food traits.
Non –GMO Soybeans
Our breeding program does not utilize genetic modification or transgenic technologies. We create new lines of food-grade soybeans using traditional cross-breeding methods. All Hendrick Seed varieties have been developed by plant breeders who have employed only conventional plant breeding techniques. All Hendrick Seeds' varieties are therefore categorized as Non-GMO (i.e. free from genetic engineering). We guarantee our customers that our soybean varieties have not been genetically modified through biotechnology procedures to add traits.
Hendrick Seeds invests in farmers' education about the latest agronomic advances such as application of organic amendments and seed inoculation to help them produce the best quality soybeans and we adhere to the Canadian Seed Growers Association Regulations and Procedures
Growing With Hendrick Seeds
Hendrick Seeds produces, develops and sells Certified food-grade soybean seed to growers who produce specialty soybean crops with our seed. These crops are in turn contracted to exporters who supply soy-food & beverage manufacturers around the world.
The success of Hendrick Seeds variety program is due to understanding and meeting the needs of both growers and the end-users in the soy-food marketplace. We are meeting the needs of Growers for good agronomics and yield, while also meeting the market's demand for premium and Non-GMO soybeans with enhanced nutrition and function.
Hendrick Seeds has close relations and understanding of the practical needs and issues of farmers who produce soybean crops for the international soy food marketplace. The growers needs revolve around good agronomics (resistance to disease, resistance to pests, drought tolerance, etc) and good yields. Without good agronomic performance and yields, growers would be reluctant to planting such varieties or would demand such high premiums that the crops would not be competitive in the marketplace.
We also work closely with exporters and food and beverage manufacturers to understand their needs for innovation in food, health, processing and nutrition traits. We offer soy food and beverage manufacturers varieties that meet their product innovation requirements including; processing efficiency, nutrition, health traits (function) and quality.
